"“My very first artsy project that I can remember was a head of an Indian warrior. I made it from brownish molding clay and cheerfully embellished its top with the feathers “donated” by my parakeet. Since then I cannot remember the time when I was not crafting something. Sometimes it was due to a necessity, but mostly it was just because. My grandma taught me how to knit and crochet when I was seven and I helped her to make hats and socks and all sorts of gowns to supplement our family’s income. Crocheting is still my favorite technique and I liberally use it in my jewelry.
I have an advanced degree in biology, which allows me to do things that I love. However, to keep my life balanced and sane, I retire to my studio to make beautiful things. How do I know that those things are beautiful? I know it when people part with their hard-earned money to have them”.
“I create contemporary jewelry for women and men. Since I am attracted to a multitude of materials, I usually say that it is “mixed media” jewelry. This spares me a headache of committing to a particular material style and leaves the door wide open for me to use in my jewelry pieces whatever I deem fit.
The world is so abound with inspiration that I will consider myself a very lucky person if I will be able to realize even a fraction of my ideas."
